Backstage Accelerator supports underrepresented founders in startup arena. They invest in startup founders who identify as underrepresented (a Woman, Person of Color, and/or LGBTQ). Lisa Gevelber, VP of Marketing from Google wrote in a blog post about this announcement. In that post, she announced “Google for Startups” is now partnering with Backstage Accelerator to help underestimated founders. Christie Pitts from Backstage capital posted that similar article in their Green Screen blog.
According to that blog post, Google also believe that a great idea can come from anywhere from any person. They want to help more founders through Backstage Accelerator. Google has hundreds of tools and technologies at their disposal so it would be a great partnership between Backstage and Google for Startups. It would certainly encourage more underestimated founders to get involve in generating ideas and implementing them.
