It seems that data breach is now a regular incidents in the world. We are seeing more and more data breach in last 2 years than ever. Some breaches happened long time ago but the company disclosed that recently or some breach just happened within couple months or week. I have tried to enlist with brief description about the top data breach in 2019. Most of the regulatory bodies are now enforcing and monitoring these breaches closely and that’s why every company no matter what their size is now disclosing their data breaches to the authority. Last year Cambridge Analytica, this month Quest Diagnostics and so many incidents already on my diary to write all here.

- Company: Australian National University

One of the massive data breaches in Australia’s history. Australian National University just shared that their 19 years of student and employee data was stolen from their system by un-authorized access. I personally wrote a report about it. Australian National University is the top university in Australia and it faced data breach incident before by Chinese hackers, although Chinese authority denied that claim. University authority was not aware of what types of data and how much data was breached in that time.
But this time they already confirmed that hacker stole 19 years of student’s and employees data that includes names, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, personal email addresses, emergency contact details, tax file numbers, payroll information, bank account details, passport details and student academic records.

According to the press release from Quest Diagnostics, they are taking this matter very seriously and are committed to the privacy and security of their patients’ personal information.
